Hedge Fund Managers need to be more transparent and responsive than ever. The due diligence process is a process that needs to be assesed and handled diligently by fund managers.

Beacon Consulting Group, who is a consulting firm to the investment management industry has just put in place their Operational Assessment and Review Service (OARS) The purpose of the OARS is to asses and review the current operations of the hedge funds. They will look at investor transaction processing, fund accounting and valuation, and trade processing. They will also provide the fund manager with a confidential report to help them to improve their responsiveness to inquiries from investors.

ArcStone Technologies, has just announced the sale of their business division and Saas offering called Wonderfile.

According to ArcStone, Wonderfile was designed to be an online storage base that would be easy to implement. After searching for a company to help market the services of Wonderfile, Arcstone worked out a transaction with BlueTie, a company based in Rochester NY.

“We’re very excited to be working with BlueTie,” says ArcStone Technologies President, David Carnes. “BlueTie is a well established player in the SaaS marketplace. They have a mature network of affiliates and resellers with approximately 250,000 business customers. We think Wonderfile is a great fit within their product mix and we’re looking forward to helping BlueTie introduce the product to their customers and resellers.

No disclosure of the transaction terms with BlueTie were disclosed.

Another Walgreens just sold in Laurel MS. Along with one sold in Montgomery AL and a couple of others in Mississippi that are currently in escrow, several Walgreens stores are on the market.

He reported that the buyer was an institutional investor and listed the following details about the sale.

Conchubar Capital Management (CCM) has raised 100 Million (US) for their Conchubar Infrastructure Fund. The Fund expects it will invest  a major portion in Asian economies. Here they expect that strong government industrial policy and sustained long term growth will support infrastructure growth.

Investing in infrastructure with strong industrial/development such as.. agribusiness, chemical production, and energy generation in global emerging market companies will be CCMs strategy.

Conchubar Capital Management (CCM) announced today that it has successfully raised funds of US0 million for the Conchubar Infrastructure Fund. CCM will invest globally in emerging market companies focusing on long-term upstream infrastructure with a strong development/industrial policy link (upstream chemical production, energy generation and agribusiness). CCM expects that a significant portion of its investment will be in Asian economies where sustained long-term growth has been coupled with such strong government industrial policy link supporting the basic infrastructure behind the growth.

“Despite the difficult climate for fund raising generally, the success of the capital raising reflects the continuing strength of value creation premises underlying such foundational opportunities and the central role of aligning with industrial policy objectives for such direction” said William Byun, Principal of CCM. With the world economic situation in what many are calling a crisis mode, many are calling for a one world currency. This is a very complicated situation and one that won’t be easily resolved. Will it happen? If so, when will it happen and what will be the currency used?

According to the Russian Government, inflation levels have remained the same for several months and the Russian Ruble is very stable now.
