Orthokeratologists from all over North America will be able to receive training at the Orthokeratolgy Academy of America (OAA) meeting in October. Doctor Edward Chow who co-developed software called Orthotool will be training those who attend, on how to properly use the software.

The training will be held in Chicago from October 20-24 at the Marriott Oak Brook Hotel. The theme is Vision by Design.

This is the third year for the training and is considered to be the premier orthokeratology training that focuses totally on corneal reshaping. The most current technologies and trends will be presented by many world renowned experts.

Dr. Chow’s workshop on using the Orthotool software will be on Thursday, October 21st. Please note that seperate registration for the Orthotool workshop is required.

These worshops will cover the science of custom design for those who attend to be able to design their own keratoconus multifocal GP lenses, aspherical, spherical, reverse geometry, and toric lenses.

Orthokeratologists will learn how the software will provide them total control over everything needed for contact lens designing. Attendees will be able to purchase the Orthotool software at a discount.

Dr. Edward Chow has been serving his clients since 1973 and has taught optometrists in several countries.

With the world economic situation in what many are calling a crisis mode, many are calling for a one world currency. This is a very complicated situation and one that won’t be easily resolved. Will it happen? If so, when will it happen and what will be the currency used?

Basing on these facts we decided to propose to our payment system user’s introduction of RUB accounts tentatively”.

According to the Russian Government, inflation levels have remained the same for several months and the Russian Ruble is very stable now.

Think Tank Photo’s president and lead designer Doug Murdoch has announced that there companies design board has been joined by 12 professional respected filmmakers and photographers. These 12 professionals will provide detailed information on types of photographic equipment to use in various settings and some of the challenges to overcome. They will bring to the table assessments of what works and what doesn’t and the real world experience that comes from working in this field for many years.

Members serve terms ranging from six months to two years and to get on the design board of Think Tank Photo is by invitation only.

When we started Think Tank Photo, we vowed to eliminate all of the bureaucracy normally separating working photographers and filmmakers from designers,” said Murdoch. The Design Board allows us to not only create products that photographers and filmmakers really need, but to expedite the process significantly.

How will HSAs be affected with the new Health Care Reform? HSA resources, one of the leading HSA providers in the nation has just released information via a webinar to show what impact the new Health Care Laws will have upon HSAs.

Under the new Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) the term HSA shows up only six times and the law makes just two specific direct changes to Health Savings Accounts. The two changes are (1) to eliminate drugs purchased over the counter from being an eligble medical expense and (2) escalating the penalty from 10% to 20% for any non-elgible distributions.

The webinar discusses these two changes and then addresses seven changes that could dramatically affect HSAs and even potentially elimanate them.

This webinar is designed for the professional that wants the details on how the new law impacts Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). For 200 years, Oktoberfests have been held in Munich except in times of war. Many people migrated from Germany over the years since and Oktoberfests have sprung up in many communities.

Ober Gatlinburg is celebrating an Oktoberfest festival every weekend in October with Bavarain food, music and drinks.

Gatlinburg community will commemorate the 200th anniversary of the very popular festival in Munich with great fun each weekend in October beginning Friday nights and on Saturdays and Sundays.

If you don’t have dirndls or lederhosen, you can still come and join in all the fun.

There will be bands performing all types of traditional music and dances in authentic attire. From schuhplattling, yodels, sing a longs, oompah, and Bavarian folk dances.

The event was very popular in the 1980′s when the Heidelberg Castle was operating a restaurant in Ober Gatlinburg. Some of the original members of the Bavarian Fun Makers Band will be attending.

Octoberfest didn’t start as a festival. It began on October 17th, 1810 as a celebration by the public of the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig I and Princess Therese of Bavaria.

Celebrations have continued through the years, typically starting the last of September through the first week in October, with around six million attending each year.

Special Biers and the German foods you’d expect will be available. Schnitzel, strudel, sauerkraut, wurst, pretzels and many other tradional specialties.
